Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

I hope you have all had a good weekend. It was the VE Day Celebrations on Friday. Miss Middleton was in charge of school and along with the other teachers that day, she organised an ‘old fashioned 1940’s party’. I popped in for lunch. Mrs Davies made an old fashioned tea party with jelly and ice cream and  camouflage biscuits too. Did you have a street party? I did. We all had to sit in our own driveways. We had scones with cream and jam. There was music, a quiz and a game where we had to make a paper plane and fly it the furthest. The best bit was when we all sang together. The song was ‘We’ll Meet  Again’, it was originally sung by a lady called Vera Lynn for the people during the war, to make sure everyone knew that we would all be together and see each other again, but no one knew exactly when. I think that message is so important today. We will all be together again, you will all be playing in the yard with your friends, going to birthday parties, seeing your nanas and grandas and doing your after school clubs, but we are not sure when. Vera Lynn is 103 and has lived through lots of things. If anyone knows what she is talking about, it is her!
Have a marvellous Monday
Mrs Cunningham
