Book Swap – 8.2.23 |
Dear parents/carers,
Recent research by the National Literacy Trust shows that one in five children do not have a book to call their own. Given the current economic climate, this is unlikely to improve anytime soon. For this reason, we have decided that this year, rather than host a book fayre, we are going to organise a book swap.
It is our goal to ensure that every single child in our school goes home with a book. We would be extremely grateful for any books that your child has outgrown or no longer enjoys. Book donations can be sent in with your child or dropped off at the school office. We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March and the book swap will take place that week. Thank you so much for your support in ensuring that no child gets left behind in their reading. Mrs Douglas English & Read Write Inc Lead |
