Week 7: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Monday)

4th May 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

It’s Monday again. I hope you all had a good weekend. I loved all of the pictures of you reading in your pyjamas on Friday. You are all getting involved in so many activities. Well done.
I went for a little walk on Saturday and then skipped in the kitchen on Sunday. Yesterday afternoon I tried to have a group Facetime with my mam, my sister and my girls. My mam made us all laugh as she was still chatting to my dad and did not realise that we were all watching her. We were all shouting for her to look at the screen.
It should be a big whole school assembly again today, with the whole school song. I miss that. How loud shall we sing that when we are all back together?

The best weeks always start on a Monday! Enjoy.

Week 6 – A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Thursday)

30th April 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

I hope you are well and you had a good day yesterday. It’s Thursday today. Sometimes I completely forget what day it is. How funny is that? I bet it is the same for you and your mams and dads too.

I broke my glasses a couple of days ago, and you all know how much I need them. My optician is shut but the web site gave me a number to ring. I was on hold for 37 minutes listening to some very boring music. I was really impatient and told my girls that I was going bananas listening to the music. So, while I was listening, I thought about the saying ‘going bananas’. I bet some of you are ‘Going Bananas in your houses’.

Those poor bananas, they did nothing bad to us!

They are bright yellow which is a cheerful, happy and positive colour. They grow in the shape of a smile. (If you hold one across your face you will have a big yellow smile). Next, they also grow in bunches which are called hands, just like your family, all there to give each other a helping hand. Finally, bananas are filled with energy….just like you all. So maybe ‘Going Bananas’ isn’t that bad!

So, have a Bunch of Bananas Thursday!!

My One Stop didn’t have any bananas so I had to improvise. Lets see yours!

Mrs Cunningham

Harton Academy Uniform

29th April 2020Mr Bennett

Update 28.4.20

YR6 PUPILS – HARTON ACADEMY

From Harton – Re uniform information
Many parents will have already seen on the Harton website the flyer regarding uniform ordering.
Parents need to know that the free delivery to school option is still available BUT it could well be a late June/early July collection from Harton as they do not yet know a suitable date for this to happen from the uniform company and the school. Parents need to be aware that if they choose the free delivery option they will need to wait for a determined collection date from Harton.

Week 6: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Wednesday)

29th April 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again,

I hope you had a top Tuesday and are looking forward to today. I know lots of you saw the video of all of your teachers doing silly things at home. We hope you enjoyed seeing it, we enjoyed making it too.

It was my turn in school today. Mrs Keighery made rainbow butterflies. Miss Marshall and Mrs Stelling made origami spring flowers. Miss Folan and Mrs Alcock did spring songs. Then Mrs Davies made mince pie for lunch!

After lunch we all played a quick game of hide and seek in the nursery garden. Except it was the children who had to count and the teachers who had to hide. Mrs Stelling and Miss Marshall put me into the nursery blue barrell. It was a really good hiding spot, nobody found me. Except eventually, I had to shout for help as I couldn’t get out! The children all laughed and so did the teachers.

I am missing you all and can’t wait to see all of you soon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Pyjamarama at Home 2020

28th April 2020A Stelling

This term, we were going to be looking forward to celebrating the Pyjamarama festival with
the Book Trust. This was supposed to be a day of enjoying reading for pleasure and
celebrating the great bedtime story (all completed in your pyjamas!) Instead, Book Trust
have created a ‘Pyjamarama at Home’ celebration for you to all get involved with. The
festival is being held on Friday 1 st May and we’d love for you all to be a part of it. There will
be lots happening throughout the day on the Book Trust website, including challenges,
quizzes, stories and interviews with authors. You can find everything you need to know
here: www.booktrust.org.uk/pyjamarama

We would love to see how you and your family celebrate the Pyjamarama so please post a
photo of what you get up to (extra points for pyjamas!) Perhaps the whole family could get
cosied up together to share a bedtime story or re-enact a scene from a favourite book. We
can’t wait to see you getting involved! Enjoy!

Week 6: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Tuesday)

28th April 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

I hope you had a good day yesterday.  It’s Tuesday today, so if we were all in school, it would be Apple Assembly and House Assembly. So usually I pop into Nursery to say “Good morning” to Blue Group, Green Group and Red Group…So Good morning Nursery! Then it’s to the hall for Apple Assembly to give out the certificates for being kind and helpful. Receptions Red certificates, Y1 Yellow and Y2 Blue. Get your foot ready, take a step forward and smile. Let’s give everyone a clap. Then it’s out of the hall for infants and into the hall comes the Juniors for House Assembly. Who is going to win this month? Come on, House captains let’s put up the scores. Now let’s give all the individual certificates out and let’s do one final count. I wonder who would have won and got extra play on Friday. Shall we all have extra play on Friday at about 2.15.

Have a top Tuesday
