Thank you to everyone who contributed towards our Harvest Festival. More details will follow of the money raised and the charity that will receive it. Our children, both in KS1 and KS2 enjoyed listening and participating in our school Harvest Festival service.
Y1 children thoroughly enjoyed their practical maths lesson this morning, gaining hands on experience estimating and weighing. There was lots of talking, discussing and thinking going on before recording their findings.
Book Week – Week beginning 16th October. Owing to its success we are again, as part of our Book Week celebration, inviting all children (R – Y6) to come to school on Friday 20th October dressed as their favourite book character. Nursery children can come to school on the Friday, dressed as Nursery Rhyme or Traditional Tales characters.
We will also be holding a book fayre during book week for our Year 2 and Junior children only. They will have the opportunity during lesson time (usually from 9.00 am to 10.00 am) on the following days to buy books for themselves.
Monday 16th October Year 6 & 4 Tuesday 17th October Year 3
Wednesday 18th October Year 5 Thursday 19th October Year 2
Friday, 20th October 11 – 11.30 and 3 – 3.30 – Nursery can buy their books in the Nursery cloakroom.
Children (Y2 to Y6) who wish to buy a book, need to bring money in to school in an envelope with their name, class and amount shown on the front. This should be brought in first thing so they don’t miss their time slot.
Please note that books will not be on sale after school hours. Books are usually priced from £3.00 – £10.00.
Thank you for your support – our book fayre raises a significant amount of commission to buy more books for the school.
There was a very exciting delivery in nursery last week with the introduction of three new iPads. Children used them to enhance their topic on fairy tales and were able to listen to stories and play a three little pig game.
Staff and children talked about how to use our IPads/digital devices safely at home and at nursery.

Brian from the fire service gave year 5 a very useful presentation about the dangers of fire. The children listened attentively and asked sensible questions.
Lisa from Fruit to Suit came to introduce the Year 5 children to the roles involved in running the school’s tuck shop. The children now have the opportunity to apply for these jobs and Miss Anderson will be selecting her staff shortly.
Here’s a little clip of some of the fun our nursery children have been having since starting in September.
We have had lots of exciting changes, including the start of our 30 hour free child places. (See if you can spot our new outdoor waterproof suits!)
