Congratulations to our Mortimer Chess Club players. This term some of our children in Y6 have competed in an in-school tournament to represent the school at a multi-school final held at The Royal Grammar School in Newcastle last weekend.
Our students played very well against a tough competition and one performed so well on the day that he has now progressed to the next round of the tournament in Manchester. We wish him lots of luck!
Some of our school council children helped to create a video for people considering a career in teaching. We are very impressed with their finished video.

Y3JM have just completed a fabulous animation program of study with renowned animator, Sheila Graber.
Using digital software on IPADS, the children were taught the skills of how to animate and then went on to animate a short story linked to their Geography topic, St Lucia.

Y5 are all visiting the coast tomorrow, can we encourage all children to be prepared for good weather please. Could children come to school wearing suntan lotion, a hat and prepared with a drink for the visit.
Just a gentle reminder that pupils are required to wear sensible clothes and shoes for the occasion. All children will need a coat.
