The Year 5 children were all introduced to the Tuck Shop recently and those who were interested applied for a job. Mrs Mackay had around 60 application forms to look through and only limited jobs to give. The successful children received training in their role and have shadowed the Year 6 children who ran the tuck shop successfully last year. A reminder that the tuck shop is on four mornings a week.
Just incase you missed it, here is the latest Mortimer newsletter.
To conclude an amazing book week, children and staff enjoyed coming to school as their favourite book character. Check out the fun!

The children in Y5 have been donating money which will be given to the Snow-do charity, St Oswald’s Children Hospice.
Y5 have been on a ‘Snow-dog’ trail around the school, finding dogs with words and creating their own sentences. They have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Reception had great fun yesterday during their writing session in the hall.
Using music to inspire, children used a range of chalks to practice and fine tune their fine motor skills.
Thank you to all netballers who have attended weekly practices, showing a huge amount of dedication.
The A and B teams played in the South Tyneside League from January through to May. They both played superbly and represented their school really well. Both qualified for the High 5 finals. The A team came 1st and the B team came 6th.
The A team also qualified to play in the Blue Flames North East Level 3 tournament and came 5th out of all of the North East schools there- another huge achievement.
Another fantastic year!
