1.10.20 Year 2 (2ES only) COVID Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
Further to our announcement (via text) that there has been confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school in Year 2, we need to update you with the following information.
We have carried out a full risk assessment having spoken to Local Authority Public Health Advisors.
The children of 2ES – Mrs Shaw, have been identified as in close contact with the case. In line with the national guidance we recommend that your child now stays at home and self-isolate until Wednesday 14th October. Your child must not go to school or any public areas: your child must remain at home. Further details of what your child needs to do are in NHS Guidance:
All 2ES pupils are to return to school Wednesday 14th October, which is the end of the isolation period.
Siblings of pupils in 2ES and those children 2SK and 2RF should attend school as normal.
Please take assurance that no children have tested positive.
We are asking you to do this to reduce the further spread of COVID 19 to others in the community. If you need support with isolation, please contact your local Council.
Other members of your household can continue normal activities provided your child does not develop symptoms within the self-isolation period.
What to do if your child develops symptoms of COVID 19
For most people, especially children, COVID-19 will be a mild illness.
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of:
If your child develops any of these symptoms of COVID-19, they should remain at home and arrangements should be made for them to be tested. At that time all other household members must also stay at home, not go to work, school or public areas, even for exercise.
Testing can be arranged by calling 119 or via the NHS website: nhs.uk/coronavirus
When the result of the child’s test is known further advice will be available.
How to stop COVID-19 spreading
There are things you can do to help reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with COVID-19:
wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
wash your hands as soon as you get home
cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

Your child must not go to school or any public areas: your child must remain at home. Further details of what your child needs to do are in NHS Guidance:
All year 4 pupils are to return to school Monday 12th October. Children should isolate until Saturday 10th October.
This includes 4AS who were originally given an earlier date.
Please take assurance that no children have tested positive.

COVID19 Update and Further info for Year 4
Dear all,
Apologies for contacting families on a Sunday, however I must inform you of a further confirmed COVID19 case, from which some Year 4 children will have had close contact. A text has been sent to all 4KA and 4KR parents.
All year 4 pupils should now isolate, however siblings should still attend school unless symptoms begin or a positive case is confirmed in the household. As detailed below, pupils from 4KA and 4KR need to isolate and stay off school on Monday. Further information will follow tomorrow once we establish close contact. We can then update as to who and for how long any pupils will need to isolate.
The confirmed cases have been staff members – not children.
The events of the last few days have consumed Mrs Cunningham’s and my weekend. We are working flat out to keep everyone safe and liaise with agencies, but this is even more challenging on a Sunday. We continue to work with Public Health Advisors and recognise that parents and children will be worried following events since Friday. We are doing everything we can. Advice on symptoms and testing is contained in the letter below.
