Week 12: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Friday)

12th June 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

Now, here is quiz day. Fastest finger first, or loudest shout first!
  1. There are big waves and little waves, green waves and ?
  2. What animal met Algy?
  3. What do baby goats eat?
  4. Which part of your body do you hold your friend?
  5. Finish the line..”I think mice are rather……?”
The loser must make the winner a slice of toast.(Preferably with Lurpak or cheese.)
Have a fantastic weekend. Missing you all.
Mrs Cunningham

11.6.20 Key Worker Child Care Update

11th June 2020Mr Bennett

11.6.20 Key Worker Child Care Update

Dear all,
Thank you for allowing us time to work through the list of requests for using our Key Worker child care next week.
Demand surpassed the level that had been set in conjunction with the Governing Body. Meaning that several parents would have been left without child care and trying to return to work.
After reviewing this, we are delighted to say that everyone who has asked for Key Worker child care next week (to Thursday’s 6pm cut off) will be given a place. Thank you for allowing us time to work to help all parents at this time.
We will review the level of key worker children in school throughout next week and ensure that these additional numbers in school are a sensible and maintainable change.
We will continue to update you on our position for future weeks.
Thank you and stay safe.

Initial Images: School Uniform

11th June 2020A Stelling

Initial Images, for many years, has provided the majority of our school uniform and sport t-shirts. This year they will be unable to come into school to take orders as they normally do in the summer term.

They are taking online orders at http://www.initialimages.co.uk

Parents can order via website and get uniform delivered, or alternatively they are offering a click and collect service. They will accept returns if something doesn’t fit and exchange for another size.
Their full team are not all back at their site yet, although Jean and the team are still working hard behind the scenes.
They will re-open from Monday 22nd June from 9-5pm with social distancing measures in place.

Week 12 – A Letter from Mrs Cunningham (Thursday)

11th June 2020A Stelling
A poetry challenge for Thursday. Your poems about your friends were so lovely. Thank you for making my day!
Yesterday it was my youngest daughter, Rachel’s 21st birthday. It wasn’t quite what she had planned, but we made it special. Lots of balloons and presents.  Her grandad came round and gave her a present. He was really sad that he couldn’t give her a hug and a kiss. We had a cup of coffee in the garden and he told us that he had found a mouse in his garage and that he was going to look for it today!! We told him not to and to give it some cheese rather than being cross with it. He said that he would not give it a treat, but he would leave him to do what a mouse does?! We all breathed a sigh of relief.
So, here is today’s poem..
I think mice
Are rather nice
Their tails are long,
Their faces small,
They haven’t any
chins at all.
Their ears are pink,
Their teeth are white,
They run about
the house at night.
They nibble things
They shouldn’t touch
And no one seems
To like them much.
But I think mice
Are nice.
Have a thoughtful Thursday.
Mrs Cunningham

Key Worker Care Request June/July 20

Please use this link if you have not been given a form from school.
In response to opening the school to more pupils in Phase One we are changing some procedures.
Requests will be taken the week prior, rather than day to day as has been the case.
Children accessing Key Worker groups can not access their class group in the same week.
We will try to help all parents, but priority will be given to key worker families if needed where numbers exceed our maximum.
Please complete the form by 6pm Thursday 11th June.
If there are issues with places we will let you know.
Thank you for your support.

Week 12: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Wednesday)

10th June 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again,

Did you make any sense of the poems from yesterday? I can’t wait to hear some of you saying them when you are back at school.

Today’s poetry challenge is all about friendship. It is only four lines long. Think about one of your friends who you haven’t seen for a while.  Maybe you could add another line to describe what they are like.

A friend is like a shady tree on a summers day.

A friend is like sunshine that makes a perfect day.

A friend is like a flower that’s worn close to your heart.

A friend is like a treasure with which you’ll never part.

By Zoe Gonzales

Have a wonderful Wednesday

Mrs Cunningham

Update 9.6.20

9th June 2020Mr Bennett

Update 9.6.20

Following the satisfactory completion of risk assessments, we continue to aim for Monday the 15th June to reopen as per our Phase One plan.

We recognise that these plans will not be ideal for all, but we fully appreciate your support as we tackle this huge task of safely reopening the school.

Phase One

Beginning Mon 15th June 2020.

This is the wider opening to nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils. Each child has been allocated one day to return in that week. We have received many responses from parents outlining their plans to return or not; it is still possible to alter your answer.

Our Phase One will last for the first week only – Monday to Thursday.

Phase Two

Beginning 22nd June 2020. At present, Phase Two is outlined to last two weeks and comes into effect if we receive less than 100% of pupils returning in Phase One. From the pupils who return in Phase One, new groups will be formed which may allow children to be in school for more days of the week. Each class/year group may be set up different depending on take up.

Key Workers

Key worker groups from the 15th June will work differently and will have a greater focus on school work. The Governing Body have capped the number of key worker children we will take alongside the wider phased reopening of school. Key worker families who have accessed the offer throughout lockdown will be prioritised for childcare.

We will also move away from daily booking to weekly booking in advance. More will be posted about securing a place in our Key Worker Group on Thursday.

Key worker care will continue to be available Monday through Friday.

Important

Please note that children cannot access their class return day and the key worker childcare in the same week. This is an either/or choice.

The finalised details for Phase One will be published Thursday 11th June, which will highlight key practicalities of lunch, uniform, start and finish times etc. Hopefully, this will answer any questions you have. There shouldn’t be too many changes from our original posted plan.

We will attempt to post some videos and pictures of the school to help children see what classrooms will look like when they return. We have endeavoured to keep it as welcoming as possible but some changes will be clear.

Thanks for your continuing support

Stay Safe
