Week 7 – A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Thursday)

7th May 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday. Oh my!  I’m loving the things you are posting on Facebook. I laughed at all the things going on in the background.  I think I might be out of a job as you are all doing such a good job! I have even seen my assembly done better than me!   I was in school today. We wrote instructions for a war time recipe, had some war time maths, then one of our mams delivered us teachers a delicious Thai lunch, then we had a wartime jive this afternoon.

Home now and writing this and thinking about you all.

Have a Thabulous Thursday (I’m running out of adjectives)

Mrs Cunningham

Week 7: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Wednesday)

6th May 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

I hope you had a top Tuesday and did something kind after watching the animation. I bet you did not expect the heron to be feeding her babies. I thought she was just being greedy. Sometimes you need to know the whole story before you make your mind up about someone or something they did. It’s called seeing the bigger picture.

Oh, I loved looking at all of your artwork. Well done to the winners too. Every single one was so good. It’s lovely to see that we are all thinking about each other. Some of your teacher pictures were so life-like!! Well done!!

I have been working from home today. Lots of emails and phone calls. I know lots of your mams and dads are doing the same. This next part is for them. Gone are the days of Tinky Winky and Dipsy, it’s now the Kardashians in the background. Help! Who is in the background for you? Is it Peppa Pig? Masha and the Bear? Thomas the Tank Engine? or Bing Bunny? Good luck!

Have a wonderful Wednesday

Year 6 Leavers’ Hoodies

5th May 2020A Stelling

To all current Year 6 pupils:

In previous years we have given Year 6 pupils the opportunity to order leavers’ t-shirts and hoodies. Due to Covid-19 our usual suppliers had taken a break in service and have only just reopened last week.

We are in negotiations to order hoodies for any Year 6 child who would like to buy one. As in other years, they will be allowed to be worn only during the last week of the summer term.

They are all priced at £12.50; they will have the school logo on the front and names of all pupils in the year group on the back in the shape of a 20. Hoodies will be navy blue and writing will be in white.

Due to Covid-19 we are unable to allow pupils to try on sample hoodies this year but last year’s supply were true to size. All orders must be paid for via bank transfer.

There is an expected six week turn around on order so we need to get orders confirmed, paid for and into the supplier as quickly as possible.

To order you must complete the Google Form with all relevant information.

Click here and fill in this order form

Orders will only be confirmed once payment has been received into the following account. If there are any concerns over bank transfer payments please contact the school directly.

Please quote your MortPS or MPS and child’s name when paying as reference.

Lloyds Bank 101-103 King Street NE33 1DT

Orders must be received and paid for by Friday 15th May so that we can process the order and guarantee delivery for the end of term. We are unable to extend this date.

Week 7: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Tuesday)

5th May 2020A Stelling

I hope you had a good Monday and a super start to the week. I was thinking about the whole school assembly and the three things that we all remember during assembly.

Do your best with all your effort, as doing your best is more important than being the best.
Do something kind every day, as kind people are the best kind of people.
Be polite and always use your manners. Please and thank you are magic words.
Now I know we have all been in our own houses for a few weeks and maybe we need a little reminder of one of these very important things – kindness. Has anyone been kind to you lately? I’m sure they have. Have you been kind to someone lately? I’m sure you have too.
I found this little animation which I watched and I really liked it and thought that I would share it with you.

Did you enjoy it? I loved the little puppy’s face. But what do you think the story is all about? I think it’s all about kindness and that kindness matters. I think it means that our kind actions (no matter how small they are) can often make a huge difference. I also think that sometimes our kindness can often lead to something far better happening.  I am going to try to do something especially kind today. Give it a try!
Have a terrific Tuesday.
Mrs Cunningham

4.5.20 Update

4th May 2020Mr Bennett

4.5.20 Update

Happy Star Wars day everyone.
Just a few things to let you know:
  1. The school will be open this Bank Holiday Friday 8th May. In discussion with staff, we will remain available for childcare for key workers.
  2. The art competition winners will be announced later today!
  3. We appreciate reports are circulating that schools will reopen in the near future. We will continue to keep you up to date on any changes. We remain open for key worker families.
Stay safe everyone.
Just a reminder on the best way to contact school if you need support.
Children through from Year 2 to Year 6 have access to a Google Classroom. When tasks are posted pupils/parents can ask questions on the Google Stream (which is public to the rest of the class) or on the task itself (this is private). Teachers will reply to these questions and comments. Please do not email teachers direct. Google Classroom is a safe area and we ask for all communication to be open and visible between student and teacher. We understand that parents may be supporting children when working but please do not email teachers directly. All tasks on the Google Drive have been created to reinforce teaching that has already taken place; your child will not be directed to learn a new skill.
When a teacher reviews a task they may leave a comment within the document. Your child will be notified through email or when they open the app/website that the teacher has marked/reviewed their work.
Reception parents are aware that Tapestry is still in use and being monitored by the Reception Team. Class Dojo for nursery is also still in operation.
During the current situation we are operating on a reduced staff rota in school. We do not have office staff working on site however there is generally a member of the teaching team available at the office between 8:30 to 9:30 and 2:30 to 3:30 each day. If you have an urgent issue the team will be happy to take your call and pass your message on to the appropriate person and they will get back to you.
Please remember we are working on a reduced staffing rota so please be patient with us.
Please do not contact your class teacher via email, Facebook or other social media.
Thank you for your support

Week 7: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Monday)

4th May 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

It’s Monday again. I hope you all had a good weekend. I loved all of the pictures of you reading in your pyjamas on Friday. You are all getting involved in so many activities. Well done.
I went for a little walk on Saturday and then skipped in the kitchen on Sunday. Yesterday afternoon I tried to have a group Facetime with my mam, my sister and my girls. My mam made us all laugh as she was still chatting to my dad and did not realise that we were all watching her. We were all shouting for her to look at the screen.
It should be a big whole school assembly again today, with the whole school song. I miss that. How loud shall we sing that when we are all back together?

The best weeks always start on a Monday! Enjoy.

Mrs Cunningham
