Champion of Champions Competition and Bart Rippon Cup

25th June 2019A Stelling

Champion of Champions Competition

This competition is only open to South Tyneside School’s football league winners. Our A team being the Snowdon League winners guaranteed us a place. The competition was played at the Academy of Light on Thursday 20th June. Mortimer faced stiff opposition against some very capable teams. However, we managed two wins and a draw against the five other teams present. Well done to the team for a successful season!

Bart Rippon Cup

This was a very popular competition which saw 17 schools across South Tyneside enter. Mortimer won their group finals. This put them through to the semis which we eventually won on penalties. The final saw another nail biting finish with Mortimer emerging the champions with a Golden Goal!

Outdoor Education Week @ Mortimer 2019 (School Based)

9th June 2019A Stelling

Last week 32 of our fabulous Y6 children had an exciting week full of activities such as canoeing in the Marine Park, rock climbing, problem solving, orienteering, athletics with Start 2 Finish, basketball with the Newcastle Eagles, Football with GS Football Coaching, swimming at Haven Point and these are just a few of the activities that left both the children and the staff exhausted but very happy by Friday tea time.

Our children, as always, were amazing and showed resilience and determination in some challenging activities. Comments were made by all coaches and companies, who provided training, on the behavior, attitude and manners of our pupils. We were very proud as a group of our children and couldn’t have asked for a better week.

Here are just a few of the photos from a brilliant week.
