Week 11 – A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Monday)

1st June 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunninmgham here again, I hope you have all had a lovely, sunny week off.

Someone in my house has loved me being in the house all week……yup….Sam!I have been doing a little bit of Amazon shopping lately, and had a few boxes left from delivery, so we decided to make him a bungalow… then a bungalow with an extension.

He liked it.

I have also put some new lights in the garden and washed the decking. But, of course it all had to be checked by the boss!!! so here he is making sure it all passed!!!

Have a meow Monday

Mrs Cunningham

Week 7 – A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Thursday)

7th May 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday. Oh my!  I’m loving the things you are posting on Facebook. I laughed at all the things going on in the background.  I think I might be out of a job as you are all doing such a good job! I have even seen my assembly done better than me!   I was in school today. We wrote instructions for a war time recipe, had some war time maths, then one of our mams delivered us teachers a delicious Thai lunch, then we had a wartime jive this afternoon.

Home now and writing this and thinking about you all.

Have a Thabulous Thursday (I’m running out of adjectives)

Mrs Cunningham

Week 7: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Monday)

4th May 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

It’s Monday again. I hope you all had a good weekend. I loved all of the pictures of you reading in your pyjamas on Friday. You are all getting involved in so many activities. Well done.
I went for a little walk on Saturday and then skipped in the kitchen on Sunday. Yesterday afternoon I tried to have a group Facetime with my mam, my sister and my girls. My mam made us all laugh as she was still chatting to my dad and did not realise that we were all watching her. We were all shouting for her to look at the screen.
It should be a big whole school assembly again today, with the whole school song. I miss that. How loud shall we sing that when we are all back together?

The best weeks always start on a Monday! Enjoy.

Week 5: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Monday)

20th April 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again. How have you all been? I hope you have all had a super Easter. I know you couldn’t get out to the park or the fair or the beach, but I’m sure your mams and dads made it a special time in the house. Mr Cunningham bought me a Galaxy Easter egg. It did not last very long. I ate it in two halves with 2 cups of tea! I am going to have to do lots of running and spend some time at the gym when we are all back to normal.

Now you know my two girls are grown up and they are both back home at the minute. Well, I thought it would be funny to make an Easter Egg hunt for them, based around Nursery Rhymes. Now if you are in Nursery, I know you will get all of these right. The first clue said, “There was an old woman who lived in a ……”. My girls couldn’t remember the rhyme and thought the answer was “tree”, so they went outside expecting to find a cream egg in the tree. Eventually, I had to tell them the answer. The next one was,  “Old Mother Hubbard went to the ………”, Rachel guessed “kitchen” and then Louise guessed “the Bingo,” I started to think that maybe they were playing a trick on me!! They eventually found all of the eggs!
All of the teachers had a day or two in school over Easter, looking after some children who were in and getting some more work together for you. You might find some new work online or you might get an envelope through your door. The teachers have worked really hard to make sure that you are still learning and the activities are fun. We are looking forward to seeing your homework when you are back to school.
It’s lovely getting back in touch with  you all.
Have a magical Monday.

Week 2: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Friday)

3rd April 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

Well, it was another odd day at home today. Sam kept lying on my computer keyboard as I was trying to type! I think he is enjoying having us all at home to give him lots of attention.

I do hope everyone is okay and enjoying their time in the house. Eventually, I’m sure that we will all look back and  remember these times and have a chuckle. You are all officially part of a history topic which children will be studying when you are older (perhaps even your own children and grandchildren!)

All of your teachers have been working really hard, and I hope you agree with me in saying that they deserve a little holiday from setting you work and being on Google Drive. I have also been setting your teachers work to be doing at home so I have decided that I am going to give them a break from that as well. Although lots of your teachers are still going into school over Easter for a day or two,  I hope you agree when I say they have been working really hard and have earned a rest.

Have a wonderful Easter. I can’t wait to see what you have been up to in two week’s time.

Oh and I really want you all to conga at 1:15 and take a photo if you can! Let’s see if Sam is up for it!

Miss you all,

Mrs Cunningham

Week 2: A letter from Mrs Cunningham (Wednesday)

1st April 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again.

I hope you all had a good day and did not get too bored.

Today I was in school. It started with Joe Wicks half an hour PE class. I had to jump around a lot and pretend to be a crab. Then Mrs Stelling got me to join in with Oti Mabuse Strictly Dance class. I was Elsa from Frozen…..well I thought I was, but I’m not sure whether I looked like her. I was dancing with Mrs Stelling, Miss Marshall and Mrs Keighery. We had lots of fun, but I got a bit dizzy. I think my legs are going to be a bit sore tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Wednesday. Miss you all.

Day 5: A letter from Mrs Cunningham to our pupils

27th March 2020A Stelling

Hello everyone, it’s Mrs Cunningham here again. I hope you had a fab Thursday. The weather was lovely today too, so I hope you managed to get a little bit of fresh air and enjoy the sunshine. I heard lots of birds singing this morning. They know that Spring is here.

I have seen so many photos of you all getting up to so much. From exercising in your living rooms, playing football in the garden, doing yoga, dancing and lots more. I have chuckled at some of the photos of your mams and dads doing the exercises with you. I have also seen painting, model making, science experiments and much more. It looks like you are having a great time.

I had a phone call today with lots of other people at the same time, the posh name for that is a conference call. Well, it was with 40 other Head Teachers! Can you imagine 40 Head Teachers all wanting to talk at the same time. It was all about making sure all of you at home and you who come to school are happy. I said you were.

Now, I have learnt something new today. Are any of you asking your mams and dads what you are having for lunch long before it is lunchtime? If you are, you might need to ask a little bit nearer lunchtime. Mr Cunningham was working from home today and he asked me at 10.30, when I was busy on my computer. Eventually, he made me a lovely sandwich. Maybe you could all help with making lunch today?

Keep working hard and also playing and having good fun.

Have a fantastic Friday. Ooh, I usually have a bacon sandwich with Mrs Brown, Miss Kirkley,  Mr Bennett and Mrs Peacock on a Friday. I think I will have one today….with Sam (my cat).

Mrs Cunningham

P.S.

Sam

Sam, after a day of doing nothing!

Sam does yoga!

Science Club: Week 3

9th March 2020A Stelling
Colour splash was the theme of today’s session. The children first of all watched as colour tablets dissolved in water to create some red, blue and yellow water. We then predicted what would happen if we mixed two of the colours together. The children make some good guesses as to what colour we would make. Our final mix was all three together which the children predicted would be brown. We actually ended up with black due to the pigments used in the colour tablets. Fascinating stuff.

Week 2 of Science Club

2nd March 2020A Stelling
Week 2 of Science Club and also STEM week in school.
This week the Year 2 group discussed what plants need in order to grow. The children’s existing knowledge was fantastic and we learned some new vocabulary such as germinate.
Each child then planted their own seeds to take home and grow. Some of the children have peas to grow and some opted for carrots.
Let’s see how they all get on.
