COVID19 Update and Further info for RGB (Miss Beattie) Dear Parents and Carers, Further to our announcement (via text and email) that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school, we need to update you with the following information: We have carried out a full risk assessment having spoken to Local Authority Public Health Advisors. The children in Miss Beattie’s class have been identified as in close contact with the case. A staff member has tested positive, as confirmed by PCR. In line with the national guidance we recommend that your child now stays at home and self-isolate until midnight Saturday 10th July. Your child must not go to school or any public areas: your child must remain at home. Further details of what your child needs to do are in NHS Guidance: We are asking you to do this to reduce the further spread of COVID 19 to others in the community. If you need support with isolation, please contact your local Council. Other members of your household can continue normal activities provided your child does not develop symptoms within the self-isolation period. If your child is well at the end of the period of self-isolation, then they can return to usual activities. Pupils will need to remain off school until RGB reopens to pupils on Monday 12th July 2021. The education of your child will continue via Google Classroom as used in previous closures. Thursday 8th July – KS1 Athletics Festival Cancelled (2RF)
We have been informed of the following from the South Tyneside School sport Network
We regret to inform you that due to Covid related circumstances that are currently affecting secondary schools, next week’s KS1 Athletics Festival is unable to go ahead as hoped. The leaders that are integral to the delivery of this type of event are unable to attend due to restrictions in place at their respective schools and the ever changing situation with self isolation.
At present, due to the lack of dates available between now and the end of term, there are no plans to rearrange the date for this event.

Urgent: COVID19 Positive Case 1MP

Urgent: COVID19 Positive Case Yr4
Please collect your child ASAP from the school main entrance.
A child has tested positive.
Unfortunately, a year 4 child has tested positive for COVID19 using a lateral flow test. The child is now awaiting results of a PCR to confirm. Following guidelines, we need to ask all pupils to isolate until we can confirm the PCR test result. All pupils are classed as close contact
Children should isolate today and tomorrow (Thursday 1st July), by which time we should be able to update you all and advise further.
We will update you as soon as we have any new information.

Due to the recent announcement from the Government, delaying the lifting of coronavirus lockdown restrictions, sadly we have to postpone the above meeting. A new meeting has been re-scheduled for Tuesday 20th July at 2:15pm, we hope you can make it. Unfortunately, due to these unprecedented times, this was beyond our control and we can only apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.
