We would like to share this flyer and dates for the year for a mental health parent/carer support group in South Tyneside!
The sessions are aimed at those parents/carers of children and young people who have experienced difficulties with their mental/emotional health and who may have accessed services either now, or in the past. The last few sessions have went great and have since been adapted and added a few formal sessions giving parents/carers a chance to meet and develop their understanding on some of the services South Tyneside has to offer.

2.MY-CATS
At Mortimer Primary School the mental health and well being of our children is very important and we are working hard to encourage our children to talk about their feelings and ask for help when it is needed.
With this in mind, we are excited and proud to announce that we have been chosen by a team of researchers at the University of Oxford to take part in an EYFS and KS1 research project called MY-CATS (Minimising Young Children’s Anxiety Through Schools).
The MY-CATS team are testing out a new way of identifying and supporting young children who might benefit from help to build confidence and reduce the chance of problems with anxiety, now and in the future.
As this is a research project, 2 classes from each year band will be chosen at random by the University of Oxford and qualifying classes will be notified by email before 3.30pm this Friday.
As the Wellbeing Lead here at Mortimer, I am really looking forward to facilitating this research project and must reiterate that this is an excellent opportunity for our EYFS and KS1 children! I really hope that, if chosen, you will take part in the study as we all, young and old, need to look after our mental health to ensure we have a happy and healthy future .
Thank you
Mrs Peacock
