Y1KM had a great time on Friday investigating in their maths lesson. Lots of talking and problem solving, working collaboratively with each other.
Here are a few photos taken at the Y2 Christmas party. Both staff and pupils had a brilliant time.
Our children in foundation and KS1 received a very special visit today a whole week early before the big event!
Yes, the man in red himself visited the children to give them an early treat before the start of their Christmas holidays.
Mortimer Primary was a whole lot more colourful today when so many of our children and staff supported Save the Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’.
We held a whole school assembly to end this term and celebrate the start of the Christmas festivities and I am sure you will agree our hall looks very festive!
As part of a cross curricular project Y5 have created their own Christmas stories for reception children. Each book is dedicated to an individual child.
The Y5 children shared their finished books with the reception year group this week.
This is a project that has been repeated for many years and we see it as a great link between our older and younger children.
Foundation and KS1 children enjoyed a special treat when Andrew the Magician came to visit. Funded by the PTA, this has become a yearly tradition that both children and staff look forward to!
Reception kicked off the party season in style on Friday with a fun filled afternoon.
Reception had a brilliant morning when ASDA South Shields came to visit.
They have been learning all about different types of breads of the world and this morning they got the chance to try a wide variety courtesy of ASDA.
Encouraged to smell, feel and taste different bread types, some of which they had never had before, the children were in their element. Enthusiastically, they tasted and discussed picking out their favourites and giving reasons for their choices.
Thank you to the team from ASDA for visiting and helping bring our topic to life.
School closes today, Friday 23rd October for half term, and will reopen Monday 2nd October.
Here is a copy of October’s Newsletter.
We hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
