Reception had great fun yesterday during their writing session in the hall.
Using music to inspire, children used a range of chalks to practice and fine tune their fine motor skills.
We are delighted to again be awarded with the Healthy School’s Award. Mortimer has always been involved in healthy schools in both local and national initiatives. To receive the Healthy School’s Award the school has to be involved in a range of healthy initiatives including healthy eating, PSHE, emotional health and well-being and physical activity.

Reception enjoyed their teddy bear picnic for Action Research this afternoon. Money raised will be used for research into childhood illnesses.
Reception had a lovely morning visiting an allotment close to the school. They were able to help with planting and to sample some of the fruit and vegetable growing.
…And like all great gardeners they enjoyed a lovely cool drink and a biscuit in the Sun after their hard work.
Reception had a fabulous day when they visited Blue Reed Aquarium as part of their topic about under the sea.
Y2 have had a fabulous week learning all about castles and designing their own.
